Our Story

Winger Tax Service is owned and operated by Jim and Heather Winger.  We have been preparing taxes in North Manchester since 2010.

Our Approach

Our approach is pretty simple.  We strive to make it so that each return receives the personalized attention only a family owned company can provide. We also, to the best of our ability, strive to complete your return in a matter of days as opposed to months.

How We Do What We Do

24-hour Drop off Services: Simply “drop off” your information with a completed Client Information Sheet. We receive your information, you advise us on any questions or concerns you may have, we process it, and contact you if there are any questions or concerns. Once your returns are complete, we contact you to schedule a time to review, sign, pay, and pick up.

During business hours:
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 9a – 7p
Wednesday 4p – 7p,
Friday and Saturday 9a – Noon

*You can also bring your information any time day or night!* No appointment needed. Utilize our secure drop off box located just outside the breezeway office door. This is a convenient, safe, and secure way that fits into your schedule and saves you time and stress.

On-line Services: Not able to make it to our office in person or you simply prefer to stay at home? Our Secure File Pro offers a secure link for you to upload your tax information directly to us, communicate with our preparers, review your return, sign, and make your payment. Check out the tab located on our home page.

Face-to-Face Services: We understand that there are times when meeting with our preparer is required. These appointments are limited. We strongly encourage you to give our Drop off or On-line Services a try.

What We DO NOT Do

Just to be clear! We will not help you cheat on your taxes. Lying on your tax returns can result in fines and penalties from the IRS, and can even result in jail time. Six Ways Your Tax Preparer Knows You’re Lying

We do not file extensions.  We are happy to receive and prepare returns after April 8th, although we can not guarantee they will be ready for the April 15th deadline and are subject to additional fees.

We will not prepare returns that continually show a business loss.  Claiming a business loss on your tax return isn’t something you can do year after year. Staying in the red might be good for cutting your taxes, but the IRS advises you have to show a profit at least three out of the last five years, counting the current year. If you claim a business loss three years in a row or three nonconsecutive years out of five, the government assumes you may have a hobby, not a business.  Find Out More Here!
